Free Trainings in Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders
I'm excited to be finishing up a Train-the-Trainer program with Mary’s Center called “Perinatal Mental Health Champions” which is a 9-month program I have been participating in. The goal of this program is to provide knowledge of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders to the Washington, DC community.
There are significant gaps in maternal mental health in the District of Columbia, and this program was created to address these gaps. Gaps exist in professional education, as well and ability to refer and treat. There are also gaps in families’ knowledge and understanding about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADS) like postpartum depression.
I am offering a free one-hour training to interested groups located within Washington, DC at this time (likely throughout the summer of 2017). My priority is to meet with groups who come into regular contact with pregnant and postpartum mothers and families.
